So, I know all of you are eagerly awaiting my take on my vacation. In fact, I've been putting off writing this entry because I know that you people will be reading this.

I'm going to be honest - with the good and bad.

But welcome back! I'm glad to be back in Rochester!

On Friday afternoon (yes, we are starting at the beginning), Jersey came to work to pick me up since it was raining and he had the umbrella. We decided to grab lunch at the Student Alumni Union (SAU) to wait out the rain for a bit (since one umbrella and two people is the same as two half wet people). Lunch was boring - the pita I got took forever for them to make and it was dry and stale.

When we left the SAU, the rain had stopped! So we headed home and finished up packing before Laura came to pick us up to take us to the Megabus stop at East View Mall (~30 mins away) at 2:30pm. Our bus was supposed to leave at 4:15pm, so we thought this would be ample time to get there early (and maybe squeeze some shopping in).

When we got there, we were informed that the bus stop had moved to the RIT Inn and Conference Center - which was back where we had come from. By the time we arrived at the RIT Inn, it was 4:00pm and we were getting nervous.

But then we ended up waiting until 6:00pm for the bus to show up anyway, and our nerves went "kaput!" We finally arrived at Jersey's home at around 2:00am, and I crawled onto the cat hair covered couch and died. (I'm allergic to cats and Jersey has two of them.) Before I fell asleep, I remembered to kick Jimmy (the fat ugly one) off the couch when he tried to crawl onto my head.

We woke up at 7am the next morning, and I devoured two bananas before sleepily crawling into the car to head down to Beach Haven, NJ.

When the car stopped, we weren't at the beach, and I got really confused. Turns out we were at Jersey's grandmother's house - and we were switching cars. So I piled into that one and nodded off for a little bit.

So then we met up with the rest of Jersey's family at a restaurant for breakfast - called The Chicken and the Egg - which everyone else referred to as The Chegg. I ate a wrap and was upset to find cheese in the actual wrap! (I'd asked for no cheese) I lived, but I felt even more grouchy than usual.

And then we were at a beach house! but no one was taking anything inside. But everyone went inside, and I was bombarded with more names, more people, and more awkward standing around. Jersey's mom had the audacity to introduce me as "She's (insert Jersey's real name here)'s... well... apartment neighbor." Really?! What's up with that awkward pause?! And now people are looking at me like I corrupted him and we're some kind of bed partners!!! (I squelched that idea really really fast - 'cause that is just weird and wrong, on sooooo many levels)

We went down to the beach, but I didn't feel like going into the water. I didn't change into my swim suit but decided to take a walk - to get some 'alone time' since I had been surrounded for so long. But then Jersey asked if he could come along (in front of his mom - jerk-face knows that I am too polite to turn people down in front of their parents), so my 'get-away' walk turned into a 'how did you sleep last night, do you like my family' talk.

I had an alright time, but I felt like he was babying - no, mothering - me, so I told him I was gonna take a nap on the beach for a bit and he should go hang out with his family (since it is a family thing, you know). Then I took my walk and had my private time strolling the Jersey Shore.

After a while, I started attempting to learn everyone's names, and I learned that this beach house belonged to his uncle and we weren't staying there (geez, someone should have at least mentioned that part to me). So then we were moving to another house where I got to bring my bag in and unpack - sharing a room with his cousin Madeline (who was sweet and nice and girly but not too girly).

I don't remember much more about Saturday except that his cousins wanted to go putt-putting, but I didn't and then Jersey said he wasn't going either.

And I think I'll call this a post and finish this later - if it seems a bit angry sounding, that is probably because Jersey and I aren't exactly on good terms right now and that's affecting my memories of my vacation. I'll get to that later.

In the meantime, have a great day!

  1. I'm really glad you're gonna be honest about last week here, to be truthful, and I really hope we can deal with each other again by the end of summer, if not by the end of Hot Chip.

But just remember! I could have been a lot worse and a lot more "I'll hang out with Molly than I was." A whoooooole lot.
