August 31, 2010 10:00 AM

Good morning!

After work yesterday, I went to hang out for about half an hour with some of the Orientation Mentors (who were taking a break from the freshmen). Then I went home and found out one of my roommates (Annie - that's what I'll call her from now on) had moved back in- most of the way.

SHE HAS SO MUCH STUFF!!! It's a good thing I gave her and Margie the big room because I don't think those boxes would have even fit in my closet. She had to pull the doors off in order to get them into hers! And those are just her winter clothes!

I ate some of the gazpacho (delicious!) and did some knitting. The only thing I can really knit is a small flower that generally turns out ugly because I'm using a multi-colored yarn that makes it look quite motley and cheap. But they are super useful for packing fragile things into boxes when I mail people things, so I continue my knitting attempts in hope that I might get good at it.

At 5pm, I went to the freshman BBQ - which really was just burgers and hot dogs on a grill with some chips and cola. But we have a lot of fun - I played Super Ninja Game Time, Kan Jam, and talked with a lot of people. I learned how to throw a frisbee correctly (I used to just toss them like I would throw a ball, or maybe vertically underarm), and I made some new friends!

Then, I went back to the dorms with the kiddos and played in a 13 people round of Uno - which, I might add, is not really possible with one deck unless you remove the drawing behind the draw-four wilds and give each player 6 cards instead of seven.

And then we began to play Mafia - rather loudly. In fact, I'm pretty sure that we kept the whole floor up for the next ~4 hours playing mafia. We did not stop. Oh, wow. Man, I was especially loud since I was 'god' and had to talk over everyone else. I was yelling, clapping, dancing, falling over, etc - just to keep the game going and keep the kids in the game.

And I think we had fun. I mean, I had fun, and we went for four hours so I probably wasn't the only one. It did mean, though, that I left at midnight and walked back to the apartment, finally hitting the hay at 12:30 PM. And they were still playing when I left.

I got five hours of sleep - urk! - and scurried my way on over to the library to start another long day!

I get off at 11am to go to the freshmen brunch to talk about the Honors Service Committee (of which I am head), but I'll probably have to talk about Complementary Learning too (since I am the Comp L adviser and the committee revolves around it). Then I get to come back to work at 1pm (hopefully eating my lunch before then) and work until 5pm - and move four TV carts to the Gordon Field House, praying that their rickety frames don't give out and cost me thousands of dollars.

Just another day in paradise! :p

You all have a great day now!

August 30, 2010 8:00 AM

Good morning!

So, on Friday, I took a long bike ride out around the countryside near RIT. Then I came back home, ate a multivitamin (Kid's Chewables!), ate dinner, and called up Tony. I headed over to the guys' place, and we pulled the kitchen table and some chairs out onto the balcony, where we played cards and listened to music for the rest of the night. I got a little chilly, and my nose was running like crazy.

On Saturday, I went to the public market with Joanna!, Joanna's mom!!, and Nancie!!!!! I was so excited to hang out with them, but my nose had continued through the night. I ended up using all my tissues and then asking for some napkins at Juan and Maria's Empanada Shop. Joanna brought me out some Benedryl, and I caved in and took one.

After that, while all the freshmen and orientation mentors (including Mike and Tony) were moving their boxes into the dorms, I crashed on the couch, after starting to run some antivirus programs on my computer 'cause it got infected again... I ate another multivitamin (man, they are so good!) and some lunch before hitting the hay again. I woke up in time to splash a little water on my face before going out to dinner with Joanna, Nancie, Joanna's mom, and two other friends at Young's Korean Restaurant - not the place we always go to!

I didn't like it as much, and they put egg in my food. I was also pretty out of it from the sleep and the meds since I normally don't take any (as in, once a month, maximum). But the company was very enjoyable, and I had a great time!

I went to the freshman party in the RITz after dinner, and I ended up dancing, badly singing, and avoiding throwing up until they kicked us out by ten. It's a good thing I took a break to call back my dad around 8 pm, otherwise, I might have seriously gotten sick. I think my body was just not used to the egg... but I lived!

When we left, Mike, Tony, and I went back to the dorms with some freshmen to play games with them until around midnight. My stomach had completely settled by this point, and I had a fantastic time! My feet were a little bit sore, but once I took my shoes off, I had a blast!

On Sunday, I went to church and was reunited with some of my church friends, which made mass fun and allowed us to sing in harmony! Not just melody! I practiced some piano after church and headed home - on my bike! That's right! I took Super Grandma Princess Betsy to church and home! It was awesome, and I felt madly skilled!

Then I helped myself to some lunch and chopped up vegetables for gazpacho - and discovered that those programs I ran yesterday didn't solve my computer problems. So I did a system restore back to the end of June and wiped out any infections that had previously existed - all without calling Mike for tech support!! (It's kinda sad that this has happened so many times that I know what to do - though I did send him some frantic texts...) And I did my laundry at the same time!

Then I reveled in the joy of the internet until around nine o'clock, when I got up and ate dinner. Then I remembered that I had started making gazpacho, but hadn't finished yet. So I finished the gazpacho and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Tony came over for a little bit after the freshmen got back at 10:30 PM, but I kicked him out shortly after so I could go to bed.

Then I had lovely dreams about a guy who (luckily) does not read this blog (otherwise I wouldn't be typing this), and I happen to hate him very much. I woke up feeling violent and refreshed, so much that I forgot to pack a lunch. So I might buy my lunch today, and I hope the SAU Cafe (Student Alumni Union) has some vegan food today! I got an email from my mom chastising me about my eating habits (since she reads this sometimes), and I responded with what I have been eating, etc.

I need to get ready to talk to the freshmen about Complementary Learning (my other job) and tell them about the Service Committee (which I am committee head of and just got started). And then after work at 5pm, the Honors freshmen are having a barbeque - field day behind Gracie's Cafeteria, and I'll probably go over there to be a bit cheery and sporty and overly competitive.

So, I had a fantastic weekend, and those multivitamins were delicious!!!! I wanted to eat them up! The brand is Twin Lab Animal Multivitamins, I think. Anyway, they don't have gelatin or Red #40 or animal products!! And they are yummy!!!!

Alright, have a great day!

August 27, 2010 9:30 AM

Good morning!

Yesterday, I got off work at 5pm and went home to snack on food and clean the kitchen (kinda - I didn't do the dishes, but I did everything else). Then the boys came and picked me up to take me to Wegmans to buy food. I didn't get much, but I keep breaking my mental budget. And the worst part is, I feel like I am stocking up on food so I won't have to buy some later. So it's almost OK...

Then we dropped my food off at home and went over to their place, where I played video games, they played computer games, and we all ate dinner (mine was pre-prepared - thanks, Wegmans). Ever since Jersey moved out and took all the pots and pans with him, I've been living off of pre-packaged food, which is something I never do usually. I can't wait until Margie moves back in this weekend with her pots and pans.

In the meantime, I'll eat vegan ravioli out of the bag. And vegan vitamin pills (thank you, Wegmans! Vitamins without Red 40 or gelatin! And they have iron!).

This morning, I fell asleep on the floor on my way to the shower. Luckily, it was only for half an hour, but it was still very unexpected. Who would have thought that bending over to turn on my cell phone would turn into an early morning nap?!

Yesterday, I also checked up on my tea experiment taking place in the blender. It tasted like metal and tea. I guess maybe I should figure out how to remove the blades. Once I mixed in molasses (high in vitamins too!), it tasted delicious with a bit of a metallic tang. I poured the rest of it into cups and put them in the fridge so the taste wouldn't grow more metallic.

I packed a lunch again today, and hopefully it will be more filling than yesterday's salad and nuts. By salad and nuts, I mean about a cup of leafy greens and about half a cup of salted assorted nuts. I should have packed more yesterday.

But today's lunch is about a cup and a half of leafy greens, seven or eight carrots, granola (raw sprouted stuff that sticks in my teeth but is good), an orange, and a bottle of water (straight from the sink). Not bad for a girl running a little late to work, right?!

I'm completely used to the snooze feature on my alarm clock. Something about crawling out of the sketchy lofted bed, hitting that button, crawling back into the sketch bed, and then having it go off again in five minutes really makes me actually get up instead of crawling back into bed and sleeping. But now I am more prone to refusing to crawl back up and falling asleep on the floor by the alarm clock (which is no good).

Once the girls move in, then I guess there will be less floor space for me to sleep on during the morning. Hopefully that will make everything work a little more smoothly. Unless, of course, we don't get a fourth person in our apartment, and I get the room to myself. I hope that's the case, but we'll see...

I have been neglecting putting my clothes in their hangers or in the hamper, so I guess I should do that when I get home, along with cleaning everything lying in the sink. And I swear, I just yawned like five times in the last four minutes.

I hope you have a wonderful day and remember to floss today!
(I haven't in over a week... or two...)

August 26, 2010 8:15 AM

Good morning!

So yesterday, I got off work at 3pm and went home to finish off a tub of hummus and scrounge around my apartment for other delicious things. I cut up three frozen bananas and froze them again after adding chopped strawberries to the mix. Maybe I'll make some vegan ice cream soon - or smoothies!

I also wanted to make some tea, so I put tea bags and water into the pitcher part of the blender (since we don't actually have a pitcher). Then I let the boys (Mike, Tony, Urug) know that I could come over at any time! I packed a bag of chocolate crackers and mixed nuts to eat for dinner.

When I got there, Matt was back from visiting his family! He was really tired, so I left him alone, and the boys and I went swimming (actually, we went to the pool and stood around talking). Then we decided (out of the blue) that we were going to the Great Northern Pizza Kitchen for dinner. So went along, intending on eating the food I brought.

But, when we got there, I got a major Chipotle craving (which is, of course, right next door), so I spent $6 on a vegan burrito. AND IT WAS DELICIOUS!! Matt came along, and every boy at the table got two slices except for him. But then the other boys complained about being stuffed, and Matt looked very content with his one slice. So I guess he wins that round in my opinion (because it's totally a competition, you know. Food is serious business).

Then we went back to their place and played "Oh, hell" - which has several variations in naming, none of which are blog-appropriate (in my humble opinion). I was in the lead for the whole game until Urug beat me in the last round! Grr!!! But then we switched to Go Fish, and I owned him!

Then we started playing this game called "31" which I've never heard of before, but it was fun (and I won the first game). I'm very competitive when I come to card games. After another game of that (Tony won), we switched again - to Texas Hold 'Em, betting with Tony's poker chips (no money).

Tony went out three times (because Urug and I bought him back in), and everyone got angry when I won on the river twice (three times?) in big money pots. Since I'm so competitive, I like to stay in until the final card, so I always tend to lose with nothing and call big bets. It's a bad habit of mine, but as long as I keep away from games involving money, it's no big deal (in my opinion).

Urug and Mike were the last two playing, and I tried to stay awake for the end. Unfortunately, I started falling asleep while dealing, so Tony took me home after promising that they would let me know who won. (Urug won - he beat Mike with a 7 high flush - Mike had the 6 high.)

When I got home, I was about to turn off my cell phone when I got a text from Urug. (Backstory - Urug has trouble being without a girlfriend and starts hitting on every girl in sight until he gets a girl (generally not one that he was particularly interested in) and he'd been hinting at me and talking about one of the pre-fishies since his last relationship ended.) So I get this text from him - "you looked real cute tonight by the way".

I responded with - "thanks" and turned off my phone. He should know by now that I'm not interested in getting a guy, especially one that is talking about how cute another girl is in front of me half the time.

But this morning was good, and I look forward to the rest of the day - I packed a lunch, and I think I'm going to plan out a budget for fall quarter (to cut back my food expenses). I kinda want to save up some money since I spend a lot on food, especially eating out.

Alright! So, I hope you have a fantastic day!

August 25, 2010 11:20 AM

Good morning!

The internet died this morning - as in it didn't work until just after 11am. So I got paid to sit around for three and a half hours, which was nice, but I didn't get anything done.

Anyway, yesterday I got off of work and decided that a "Molly-Day" was long overdue, and I needed to avoid human contact for the rest of the day. I ate whatever I felt like eating, I watched whatever shows I wanted to, I read whatever books I wanted to, and I slept when I felt tired. It was amazing!

And I avoided the boys - yeah, I know that I should be social and soak up their attention and play cards, but here's the thing: I didn't want to! I wanted to stay home! So I did.

Anyways, now I am superbly well-rested, I ate a giant breakfast this morning, I spent three hours socializing with my co-workers and doing nothing productive. I had summer vacation squeezed into one day, along with nine hours of work the previous day and another 7 today!

I'm positively glowing, and I should do this more often.

Have a wonderful day!

August 24, 2010 12:15 PM

Good afternoon!

Sorry I haven't updated earlier today, but there were only two people working today, including me. So it's been a little hectic....

Last night, I went over to Tony and Mike's place to eat dinner with Mike's adorable girl, Urug, and the boys. Mike spent all day making a curry udon with tofu and vegetables, AND IT WAS DELICIOUS AND VEGAN!!! (he made beef in a separate pot for the boys to add in if they wanted to)

It was sooooooo good that I took some home and soon will eat it for lunch! That's right, boys and girls! I am eating lunch at work today since I don't get off until 5pm. I've brought along a book and a bottle of water, so I should be set!

I charged my iPod at work today, but I forgot to grab some batteries before I left home (since I woke up late today). So I can't use my camera, unfortunately. On the bright side, I'll probably end up doing work instead of goofing off most of the day. In fact, I have only started to check my email 15 minutes ago! (normally, I do that by 8am...)

I don't have much to say - we played Mao (which is an awesome card game where the players make up rules and don't tell each other what they are). It's a hard game, but it's also really satisfying when you figure out a rule and stop getting penalty cards.

That's all for today! I might go see a movie tonight - I think it's 50 cent night at the dollar theater!

Have a great day!

August 23, 2010 9:00 AM

Good morning!

So on Saturday after work, Tony took me to a picnic, which was pleasant even though we didn't know anyone except the guy that invited us. So we wandered around Mendon Ponds instead, taking pictures and having an OK time. Then we went over to Laura and Nancie's house where we found out several things - no one was home, Joanna didn't come to Rochester because she didn't feel good, and Laura and Nancie were cat-sitting at a friend's house.

So we went to Tony's place and baked a cake and ate it. It was mint chocolate flavored and very delicious. Then we played cards with Mike and his cute girl until it was dinner time.

But here, our plans changed again! We went to Shiki Restaurant for sushi (and I wasn't vegan... but I was pesca-vegan!). It was amazing, and might I mention that it was worth every cent?!!

On Sunday, I went to church and had a good time since our choir director was back AND WE HAD PIANO!!

Tony and I drove to Corning to go to the Corning Museum of Glass (which I've been to before like 3 years ago and it hasn't changed since), but he had a good time. We watched a demonstration of a guy making a pitcher with a orange dragon, and I took lots of pictures of the glass and him.

Then we came back to my place and watched TV until Mike and his cutie got back from visiting their friend in Buffalo - who they also brought along. AND THEN! We all went to Korean! I took sneaky pictures of the waiter we all love, and we devoured our food!

After that, I was exhausted, so Tony took me home to sleep. And this morning, it's been raining, and I don't know where my umbrella is.

So, if you've seen a black umbrella with like 30 smiley faces on it, let me know! I miss it very much!!

Oh, and the boys will be making curry udon today, and they are going to keep it vegan for me (and add beef once I have been fed!) So I am looking forward to my lunch break!

Have a fantastic day!!!

August 21, 2010 10:45 AM

Good morning!

Molly, why are you posting on a Saturday?!

Well, you see... I'm at work! :p

Yesterday, Tony and I went to Goodwill while he got his glasses fixed. I bought three matching cups, 4 plates (matching), 2 tupperware things, and one wooden chair. The reason behind these purchases is, well, some things got broken this summer. Some things that weren't mine.

One cup got shattered and thrown out.
One plate got put in the microwave that wasn't supposed to be, and now it's really warped.
The two kitchen table chairs lost the supports holding up the seat part, and even though you can still sit in them, they creak, moan, and wobble.
And some stuff got thrown out when someone was too lazy to wash out the containers.

And this wasn't all me, by the way! The other people staying in my apartment were responsible for most of this! (the plate in the microwave was me) But that doesn't change the fact that everything that got messed up or broken was Margie's.

Margie (this is a nickname) is my flat-mate during the school year. She was gone for the summer, but I asked her to keep some things (like the table and chairs) behind so I could use them. In return, she also got to leave behind her dresser and plates and other sorts of useful things that are hard to take back to Ohio.

So, I bought these other things to replace the stuff that got busted, and since they were all from Goodwill - I only spent $10 doing it!! And none of it looks old or used! Yay for bargain shopping!!

Anyways, after that, I went home and crashed for a bit, waiting for when Mike and his beautiful girl would arrive. I got a phone call from Tony saying that they wouldn't make it in time for dinner.

So we decided to go to the Yummy Cafe for cheap, easy Chinese and Thai food. BUT IT CLOSED!!!!!!!!!! Now where are we going to get cheap food?! So we thought about going for Korean (which would be really funny since we are going tonight), but decided to go to the Shanghai Chinese Restaurant on West Henrietta.

IT WAS AWFUL! The service was pretty bad, the tofu wasn't either cooked or raw (and it was runny), the sesame sauce tasted like honey, and we had to order soup for two because they didn't make it for one..????!!!! Never go there!!! (actually, a friend had told us it wasn't good, but we didn't think it would be THAT bad...)

After that, we headed back to his place to wait for Mike and the girl to show - and they did! And Mike's girlfriend brought along her friend who lives in Buffalo!! So we played cards and watched Youtube... typical RIT, right?

I went home around midnight, sent a text to Laura and Nancie saying I wouldn't be up in time for the market, and crashed. This morning, I got to sleep in! And now I am at work, chilling and putting up pictures on Facebook of my beautiful freshmen!!

I hope you have a fantabulous day!

August 20, 2010 8:30 AM

Good morning!

So, yesterday Tony took me to Wegmans to buy food! Then we went to the library to pick up the Scrabble board game - my supervisor said I could take it for free along with a pair of really nice sunglasses.

We played for a bit, and then he let me take a nap and eat dinner. Then we went over to his place to play cards and do a puzzle. We had a pretty good time, and I got to see the inside of his apartment for the first time!!!

And here's my update for the weekend - today, Tony and I will probably go to Goodwill to donate some old clothes and pick up some 'new' ones. Then Mike and his awesome girlfriend are coming in today! So we are going to Shiki Restaurant (nice sushi place) for dinner - I'm predicting being un-vegan tonight....

Tomorrow, Laura, Nancie, Tony, and I are going to the market super-early since I have to be at work by 10am. When I get out of work at one, Tony and I are going to drop by a friend's party to say 'hi' and go. Then we might go to Target to pick up a stool for the kitchen since the chairs are almost broken. They sag heavily and make creaking noises, so I think I should get a back-up since the girls will be moving in soon.

Then, we are going to the girls' place (Joanna, Laura, and Nancie) to see Joanna! She's coming back! To clean and move out, but still! She's going to be under minor-house-arrest until the place is clean, though, so we thought we'd see her! We might even help clean!

Then for dinner, we are going to the Korean place with the girls, Mike, and his super-cute girl! There might be a little awkwardness at the table since Joanna and Mike don't often get along, but I think it will be fine as long as they don't sit next to each other.

I might check out some movies today for Sunday, but I think I'm going to do some reading this weekend in my free time. But, yeah! That's my plan for this weekend! If you want to meet up, now you know!

I love you all very much - my number of followers has increased again! And I hope you have a wonderful day!

VegAnn, I love you!

August 19, 2010 10:30 AM

Just thought I would point something out:

MY BIRTHDAY IS IN A MONTH!!!!!!!!

My wish-list:
posters (no profane ones)
CDs (any will do)
food (yes, if you pay for part of my groceries, I will love you)
a watch (not bulky, but not liable to break easily)
necklaces, bracelets, rings (anything goes)
puzzles/board games (for the apartment)

Thank you!
(This will be your only reminder, FYI)

August 19, 2010 9:15 AM

I think maybe it's time for a post about Tuesday evening, right?!

So, after getting off work at one and going back to work at 3 - I finally escaped work at around 6:30 PM. But since I had time to kill, I went on an adventure in the stacks and checked out quite a few books about nutrition, biochemistry, and food chemistry. I'm thinking about changing my career path, and maybe if I read up on it a bit, I can figure out if this is a temporary fling or the real thing.

That's the problem with having a twenty track mind - you are never really sure if you are just interested or willing to make a commitment...

Then Tony picked me up and we met with Laura and Nancie at the Korean restaurant for dinner. Us girls all wore yellow and ordered the bibimbop (rice bowl), and tony wore gray and ate spicy chicken. The waiter was cordial and we ended up being there for an hour and a half - which is unusually long for us.

We also ordered a seafood pancake and I picked the seafood out of my slices. Also, I was the only one that finished their meal entirely.

Anyway, when we went up to pay, I paid first, then Tony paid. As Tony was paying, the Korean waiter (I think that will forever be his name) started joking with Tony about how he wasn't wearing yellow. Tony joked back that he's the only one that didn't get the rice bowl either - maybe he missed the memo.

THE POINT IS - THE KOREAN GUY ACTUALLY STARTED JOKING AROUND - THE FIRST TIME SINCE THAT AWKWARD PROPOSAL!!!!! YES!!!!!!!! I am so thrilled.

Also, we lost track of how much each of us paid for our food, and we accidentally gave a 30% tip.... well, maybe they'll like us some more now....

That's it for now. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

August 19, 2010 9:00 AM

So, I didn't post yesterday.

I also didn't go to work yesterday.

You see, I've been working 9+ hours each day for the last few days, and getting up at 6 AM every morning after spending my weekend flying and cleaning doesn't sound appealing. And when I woke up with massive stomach pain, a headache, and a runny nose, I decided to call it a day and call in sick.

So here's what I did yesterday: went back to bed until noon, did laundry, ate a nectarine. Then I played on the internet, gave Urug his game cube back (he left it when he moved out) and zonked out for a little bit, drooling on the couch.

Then Tony came over for like 10 mins before he decided to go to the movies with Urug and Andy. Then I channel surfed until I found Two Weeks Notice playing on ABC Family. Went to bed at 10 pm.

Summary - After repeatedly bashing Hugh Grant with my mom throughout my high school years, I felt extremely guilty when I found myself liking him at the end of the movie. Also, I think it's official that I am madly in love with Julia Roberts when she has dark hair and plays a smart, over-bearing woman like she did in the Proposal and in Two Weeks Notice. Maybe because I can relate with that... :p

And my verdict this morning - Hugh Grant is still the jerky actor that everyone loves, but maybe I can see part of his charm now - if I replace his face with anyone else's face and get rid of that accent...

August 17, 2010 9:30AM

Good morning!

So yesterday, we were going to eat Korean food for dinner - BUT THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED!!!!!! So Jersey and Tony and me all decided to hit up this new-ish place called Sunrise Steakhouse.

It has like no vegan options - and they didn't list mayo as one of their ingredients on this one salad. They also wrote "kani" which wasn't translated anywhere on the menu. And that turned out to be fish. So Jersey and Tony sacrificed themselves to finish my salad after the waiter told me it was very good and kept checking up to see if I was eating it.

But the miso soup, the sweet potato sushi, the veggie dumplings, etc were very good. The sushi list was long, and they had hibachi chefs that were very entertaining. So I'd recommend it to anyone else, but I won't be returning.

I really wanted Korean food - maybe we'll go tonight.

So after dinner, we went back to my place and I fed them cake and we played Settlers of Catan again. It was a really close game, and Tony won! (for once)

After they left, I got a little bit sick (I have eaten a lot of halvah these past few days, and that mayo made me feel queasy). But now I am fine.

I brought some more of the cake into work to feed to my co-workers since I can't eat it and it's getting a little old. In exchange, my boss gave me two HUGE beefsteak tomatoes from her garden. She's the one that gives me her daughter's hand-me-downs all the time (I got a bag full of sweatpants yesterday). I feel bad being her charity case, but I'm not going to turn down barely used cute designer clothes, especially on my budget.

So have a great day, and if you are in town and want some cake or a bagel, drop on by!

Pet Peeves of a Librarian

1) If you know the call number of the book, tell me it! Don't give me the title and send me on a search for it if you know the easiest way for me to find it!

2) If you look up a book online and see that we have it - check to make sure it's available and not "MISSING" or "DUE 5-21-11".

3) Let me finish my "How can I help you?" before you butt in with what you want!

4) If you come in around noon and say, "I'll have the usual", chances are that I don't know who you are or what you want. This is especially common during the school year and finals week.

5) If you are going to ask me to coffee, leave your creepy friends behind when you do it. I don't want the hunk to ask me out with the guy who stalks me right behind him.

6) If I am nice to you, don't take it personally. I'm nice to everyone. It's part of my job. That means that I am probably not interested in you even though I told you to have a nice day.

7) If I don't waive your fines the first time, don't think I will half an hour later. Or that the other desk assistants will. There's probably a note in your account that says, "DO NOT WAIVE FINES - MV 5/3/2010" or something of the like.

8) Don't stand around chatting with me when there is a line of people to deal with. If you want to talk to me, wait quietly until I'm finished doing my job.

9) If I say, "It's been nice talking to you" and go back to doing work, that means that I am done talking to you. That doesn't mean wait around and continue talking to me.

10) If I hand you your books, DO NOT TOUCH MY HANDS!! Especially do not stroke them, kiss them, etc. In fact, kissing your librarian = a major no-no. Even if you are married to your librarian, I don't think it's professional or appreciated by their boss.

Just thought I would vent a little.

August 16, 2010 9:00AM

Good morning!

So! My adventure was..... (drum roll) MY PARENT'S 25TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY!!!

(Their actual anniversary is in April, but this is when they could get their friends together and the house clean).

So yeah! At 2:30 PM on Friday, Tony picked me up and took me to the airport for my 3:45 PM flight to Newark. Then I caught a flight to Houston, and I arrived safe and sound at 9:15 PM. Luke drove my welcoming crew home (Dee and Dad came along), and then I gave Mom a big hug when I walked in the door!

Dee, Luke, and I stayed up until about 12:30 AM talking and using the internet - hee hee - and then I crashed and slept like a little baby!

I got up and showered and munched on some cereal by 8:30 AM - and then I was cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!! I cleared off counters, washed the mirror in the bathroom, designed signs showing where the bathrooms and recycling were, and stirred up a lot of dust. At around noon, Mom and I drove her car over to the Memorial High School Band Car Wash, waving at Luke as he served snow cones to people for a buck.

Then I started all of the music stuff - copying disks into my iTunes so we could run a 6 hour playlist throughout the party. Everyone had a chance to put in their two cents about what they wanted to hear during the party - Dee didn't have a chance to give me the songs she wanted, but Dad put in enough to last three hours... :P

Then it was party time, and a flurry of chopping, serving, cleaning, and panic-ing ensued. In fact, I can't remember anything until after most everyone had gone, and even then it's blurry.

I didn't help with the clean-up as much as I probably should have, but I was exhausted and crawled wearily into bed for another night of sweet sleep.

Then on Sunday, we went to church, and they dropped me off at the airport for my two flights back home to RAH-CHAH-CHAH!!! This time I flew through Cleveland, and when I got off my plane in CLE, I ran to my next gate since it had already started boarding! But I made it in time, and I zoned out on the plane again!

A funny thing - when I got off the plane in Rochester, I dropped my bag. As I was coming up after picking it up, I looked right into the eyes of a familiar face - the Korean waiter!!! (Backstory - Back in June, I proposed to this waiter at our favorite restaurant - a Korean place - and he completely blew me off! It was intended as a joke anyway, but he has been avoiding our table since then (except one time when the restaurant was busy) so this was a really awkward encounter).

Yeah, so I saw him and he saw me and there was this moment that just destroyed any sleepy-ness I had left in me. I ended up mumbling, "I'll see you this week..." and scurrying down the runway (he was waiting for a gate-checked suitcase). So embarrassing! But I didn't even have a reason to be embarrassed! Except for dropping my bag!

Anyways, Tony came and picked me up, and I fed him some of the cake I brought back. Then I kicked him out at 10:30 PM and fell asleep.

This morning I woke up, feeling refreshed and wide awake (except I kept falling asleep again). I came into work and here I am!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and I'll chat again tomorrow!

August 13, 2010 10:30 AM

So, a projector just went missing at work, and apparently it's my fault.

On Monday night, someone put an order in to pick up a projector. But we aren't open at 9:00 PM, so no one did it.

On Tuesday morning, I saw an order that said 9 - and assumed it was for 9:00 AM. So I 'assigned' it in the program to one of the student workers without looking at what it was.

And it got deleted because it assumed that it was finished and taken care of. I called over my boss, and she said sometimes the computer leaves traces of previous orders. So we decided it wasn't important.

We just discovered this today - and the projector is no longer in the classroom it was supposed to be in. Since my boss is off today (and she's no spring chicken anyway), guess who's fault it is?

So now two of my few employees are searching room after room for this missing projector, while they could be doing other orders, checking up the copiers, etc.

I feel ashamed, but I wasn't trained completely for the supervisor stuff since no one was here for the summer.

At least my boys just found the projector - otherwise, I'd have $3,000 in fines plus humiliation in front of my co-workers.

August 13, 2010 8:30 AM

Hi!

So, yesterday after work, I stopped by the College of Science Dean's Office again - to swipe their leftover veggie burgers. Then I walked home to eat lunch with Tony. However, 'eat lunch with Tony' turned out to be 'while Molly cooks, Tony eats, gets Jersey, and leaves before my food is done heating up'. Kinda defeats the purpose of eating together if he leaves before I start eating.

So I cleaned the apartment, did laundry, started packing, and then ended up goofing off on my computer. After the boys came back, I started playing more video games. And I kept doing so until about 6:30 PM.

Then we went out to eat at Wok with You - and I didn't eat much because I wasn't feeling hungry. Neither did the boys. We were waiting for a text from the fishies inviting us over for movie night.

They didn't text, so we went into their dorm and found them eating pizza. So we hung out until we picked two movies to watch - Seven Pounds and The Proposal. Seven Pounds was depressing and a really bad choice to watch the night before they leave. I knew how it was going to end, and that just made it worse. (I'd never seen it before, but the plot was pretty transparent)

The Proposal was a funny movie, but quite unrealistic. I guess that just made it better, especially after watching Will Smith commit suicide. I really enjoyed it.

Then it was midnight, and we went home. I didn't shower today (eww gross!), but I can do that once I get home from work at 1pm.

Also, I will be going on an adventure this weekend - so wait in anticipation for my Monday post! (In the meantime, I written up a to-do list for cleaning for the boys - heheee) Here's a hint: I'm leaving my apartment at 2:30 PM today, so I better eat and shower fast!

And I'm not sure if I described my adventure in a previous post or not... so it might help you to go back and scan for another hint or two!

Happy hunting and have a beautiful weekend!

August 12, 2010 8:40 AM

Good morning!

I thought I would back-track a little this morning...

Yesterday from 1-3pm, I had break from work. I spent 20 mins eating, and hour accidentally sleeping in the College of Science Dean's Office (waiting for the wise and beautiful Catherine to come back from a meeting), and 30 mins talking to Catherine after she finally woke me up. The rest of the office was just whispering and watching me sleep (which is a little strange, but I'll let it pass).

So Catherine and I talked about a bunch of things, and I felt super-recharged when I went back to work. In fact, I remained that way until about 6pm. But then the last two and a half hours dragged - at least I did everything properly!

And when I got to the dorms on my walk back, I called up some of my fishies and got them to come with me to my apartment, where the rest of them were hanging out with Jersey and Tony. Then we played Mafia, and I got to be the Moderator.

Our House Rules:
9 people playing, 2 are killers, 1 is an angel - no one knows who is who
They all go to sleep, and the killers wake up and decide (quietly) who they will kill. They go back to sleep. The angel wakes up and decides who they will protect. Then they go back to sleep. Then everyone wakes up.

Then I get to make up a drastic story of how so-and-so died (or was about to die and miraculously was saved). Then the living people start accusing each other, trying to figure out who the killers are. The 'day' ends when the majority of townspeople decide that one person is a killer and must be hanged/lynched/etc.

Then they all go back to sleep and the killers wake up... and no one knows if they were right, wrong, or killed the angel until the end...

The game ends with several choices: If there are still 2 killers alive and 1 townsperson - the killers win. If there are 1 killer and 2 townspersons and one of the citizens is lynched, the killers win. If there is 1 killer and one angel, the game is a tie. If both killers are killed, the citizens win. And so on and so on.

We played quite a few rounds, and the kiddos really loved it. When they finally went home, Jersey, Tony, and Urug played this strange Ninja game that Urug knew. I sort of watched, but then I went to bed.

And this morning, I slept extra again since I didn't have to get Jersey up!

I plan on doing laundry today, maybe napping a bit. I might even wander over for Asian food for dinner... and I plan on showing up to the fishies' movie party tonight.

So yeah! I hope you all have a wonderful day today!!

August 11, 2010 3:30 PM

Wow, Molly! Why are you posting in the afternoon?!

Well, there's a funny story behind that...

You see, we have an employee that comes in during the evenings and on weekends to work - for his privacy, I'll call him 'Night'. Anyway, Night decided that he wanted to take a week off. But Night didn't tell anyone, he just left a note on the daily calendar that no one looks at but me. So this morning, I saw that today said he was out.

I talked to all my bosses and other people too. Guess what?! No one had known anything about this. So now, I am working an extra 5 hours today to cover for him, and another girl has to cover 4 hours tomorrow. Oh, and someone will need to come in on the weekend.

So yeah.... 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, 2 hour break, then 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM = 10.5 hour work day!!!

And it's last minute notice!

So I hope you all are as cheery and happy as I am today! Because you get to go home!

Though the fishies might be waiting in my apartment when I get home... I sure hope so...

August 11, 2010 10:00 AM

So, yesterday I came home and made soup! I was actually cooking lunch instead of digging around for snacks! And when I served my first bowl, my computer started acting funny.

So I called Mike (since this has happened before and he helped me). And thus, the next two hours were spent doing strange things to my computer, finally resulting in its operation. By that time, I was exhausted of staring at a screen and really wanted to chill with some 'me' time.

Of course, that's when Jersey comes home and starts questioning me about what was wrong with it (like I'd know!) and other things - so I pulled the 'naptime' card and hid in my room.

I ended up falling asleep after a little while, and he didn't bother me anymore. I think he's gotten pretty good at reading when I'm sick of him (but he's still not good enough).

At around 7pm, I got up and started playing video games until 9:30 PM - yeah I know it's not good to stare at a screen, but it wasn't my computer, OK? And I didn't feel like going back to bed and waking up tired at 3am. Urug was playing computer games at this point in time.

Jersey and Tony came over and then Urug got off his computer and played games with us. Like, cards and stuff. He made up a bunch of rules, and we had a pretty great time. Then I crawled into bed and passed out.

This morning, I didn't feel like doing the mohawk, and Jersey didn't need to get up. I went back to bed and got an extra hour of sleep! And now I'm at work, googling engagement rings since my co-worker brought the subject up and I'm bored.

I found one that I like:
http://www.malleries.com/-vintage-diamond-and-sapphire-band-i-11948-s-142.html

But I can't see myself getting married, so maybe I'll just get myself a nice ring when I turn 30. As a sort of a 'putting myself first' kinda thing, I guess.

Have a great day!!
(and for those of you wondering, sapphire is my birthstone, and I love it!)

August 10, 2010 9:30 AM

So, like nothing happened yesterday. I ate lunch, cleaned my room, went back to work, came home, ate dinner, watched TV, played Settlers, hung out with friends, watched more TV, and then crashed.

This morning I got up earlier than usual to put my hair up in a mohawk. However, on the 20-30 min walk to work, it kinda collapsed. I kept it long enough to show my co-workers that, yes, I do put it up sometimes. But once they saw it and had their fair share of laughs, I went to the bathroom, soaked it, and smoothed it back like a greaser in the late 80s.

So, yeah. Lovely post, isn't it?!

Oh yeah! So, this one guy that comes to the library all the time to check out laptops left his on the desk for a little bit - and I totally wrote on his Word document:

Thank you for coming to the circulation desk!!!!
We hope you have a great day!!!!

Love,
Molly and Aisha

Aisha is one of the desk workers that was my partner in crime. Anyways, he just came and picked it up and thanked us. Halfway on the way back to his seat, he started chuckling, and when he sat down and looked at us, we started giggling. :P

I guess today isn't so boring after all...

Have a fantastic day filled with lots of love and practical jokes!

August 9, 2010 9:00AM

So, I'm sure you all want to know how my weekend went - and don't hold your breath! I'm typing as fast as work will let me! (which isn't very fast)

So, on Friday, I came home from work and crashed - I was super tired.... BUT!! First I ate lunch and visited Catherine (the awesome wonder woman of the college of science)!! We had a lovely conversation, and I super-enjoyed it!

On Saturday, I went to the market with Nancie (one of the girls from the Batman movie night). We had a fantastic time, and I ran some errands with her afterwards! And then I did some house-cleaning!

Then I lay around playing on my computer for about an hour or two... or three...

And I decided this was no good! It was too nice outside for me to waste it in front of a screen! SO I tossed in a load of laundry and read my book outside!

Once I finished my book, I waited for my laundry to finish drying before going back inside. Then I ate a little and filed some paperwork (for the 3 clubs I'm in - Life Right (which is pro-life), College Of Science Student Advisory Board (COSSAB), and the Honors Council (which isn't a club, but whatever)).

And then I felt so productive!!! that I decided to play video games and goof off...

And we went to Aja Noodle with Tony (he's back!) for dinner - AND IT WAS TERRIBLE!!! NEVER GO THERE!!!! we went 'cause we had coupons (which Jersey will try to give away today)

And then I played more video games and went to bed.

On Sunday, it was my first day going to church since I got my head shaved (I know, but I was out of town and traveling...) And most of the little old ladies loved my mohawk! But some people (mostly younger ones, to my chagrin) COULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT ME!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

After church, I came back and played more video games until the freshman were due to arrive in 10 minutes for the WATERMELON EATING CONTEST!!!!! Then Tony and Jersey and I rearranged the furniture while Carrie sat on the couch (she biked over and was kinda tired).

We finished just after the freshmen started knocking, and then we let them in! They weren't really surprised, but they liked it.

Clarissa and I faced off for the watermelon eating contest - no rinds, fastest wins, half a watermelon each - GO!

I lost, but it was close and she felt sicker than I did. I had three seeds up my nose afterwards, and my pants were covered in juice even though she was spotless... I guess I'm just bad at this.

The other kids played foursquare and drew on the sidewalk with chalk and ate the other watermelon (about half of it) before going home to do homework. I got a lot of pictures of them!!! And they used my camera to take pictures of the contest too!!!!

After, the rest of us played Settlers when the kids and Carrie left. Then we went for an early dinner at The King and I - a Thai restaurant nearby. Our waitress was kinda cold to us except when she handed us the bill - I guess she wanted tips.

We were good and left her a decent amount - for college kids, we are good tippers (Generally between 15 and 20%). After, we played around on our computers and watched old episodes of Static Shock (it's a kid and his friend that become super heroes - it's intended for a... umm, ghetto audience? They say 'bro' and stuff like that a lot - it's really good!)

So my weekend was pretty good (a lot of video games), and I like the new arrangement of the living room. And even though I didn't catch up on my sleep as much as I wanted to, I still got a decent amount!

Have a great day!

August 6, 2010 11:00AM

So once Ann and Tony arrived...

We ate! Ann had baked vegan donuts for us and brought chips and salsa!

We went to the beach! We tanned for a few hours (though Tony turned red)!

We went back to the house and played cards!

We went to Living on the Veg (vegan restaurant on the island)! We stuffed our faces!

We went back home and played more cards!

Then we crashed when we got tired!

And Ann and I shared a bed (which we didn't get out of until 11am the next morning). Then we went back to Living on the Veg for lunch and played more games at home until the rain stopped enough for them to go home.

Then I read and we got the Fishery for dinner again (I got the same thing as before).

On Friday I didn't go into the water - I just tanned. Otherwise it was like every other day without Ann and Tony. I was kinda depressed and tired of smiling at all of Jersey's relatives.

On Saturday I had nightmares and felt awful all day. I was irritable and got angry at Jersey like twenty times. I was sick of hearing his voice, seeing his face, everything. I just wanted to go home. I remember getting angry because he was looking at me for too long, and he constantly hovers around me like some annoying fly.

I don't want to go into as much detail about the last few days because they were so awful. I hated Jersey, myself, the beach, cars, everything.

Sunday was the awful ride back to Rochester, and I practically died with joy when I stepped into the apartment. I collapsed on the couch and reveled in company other than Jersey.

We went to Wok with You for dinner, and I couldn't finish my food for once. Everyone was really surprised, but I was like dead by that point anyway.

And on Monday, Jersey started hovering again, so I got ticked off again. And I think you know the rest of the story.

Sorry this is super abbreviated, but I'm kinda ashamed that I was such a jerk once Ann and Tony left.

So there it is! You should be all caught up now! (and then on Monday I will tell you about the weekend!)

I love you all!

August 6, 2010 9:00AM

Good morning!

I thought I would use this post to cover the two days I didn't post while I was in NYC.

So on Tuesday after work, Jersey and I went to the bus stop and waited for about 3 hours for the bus to show up (yes, it was that late). Then, the bus took so long to get to NYC that we arrived in the city at 2:10 AM. The last train for Ann's had left by then, so we settled down to wait like hobos in Penn Station for the 4:17 AM train. The cops told us to move, and we were finally getting comfortable when I heard that there was an Amtrak train going at 3:00 AM to our stop too!

So we bought tickets super-fast and headed out! We arrived at Ann's house at 4:00 AM, and her dad was nice enough to pick us up when she didn't pick up her phone. Then I crawled into the extra bed and crashed (Jersey got the couch bed).

I was up at 9:47 AM showering, eating, etc to get ready to go into the city. We got in just before 1pm, and we met up with Mike and Maeghan for some delicious Thai food! Then we wandered around NYC having a grand old time until about 4:30 PM. We got to the line going into the venue (Central Park Summerstage), and we sat down to wait it out.

The doors opened at 5:30 PM, and we got handed these free coconut water drinks (which we all thought were pretty gross). Ann said that she's had coconut water before and that this was nothing like it.

Then we watched the two opening bands, 'Holy Ghost' and 'Hercules and Love Affair' (which consisted of some transsexuals and some strangely arousing interpretive dancing). They were pretty good, but everyone was holding back until Hot Chip came on stage.

And then it was party time! It was such a great concert! and I got a copy of the set list off of the stage!

Afterwards, we stopped off at a small grocery, and I ate about a pound of vegan dumplings. Then Mike was like, 'We're going to miss our train!' So we ran from Central Park to Penn station.

And we missed our train, but they got on theirs. We sat around watching the videos I took of the concert (which I'll put up later), and I washed most of the gel out of my mohawk.

When we got home, I crashed.

We got up at 9:00 AM and got ready to go into the city to catch our bus. We snagged some cheap Chinese before getting on (with a tear-filled goodbye!) and heading back to Rochester.

Then the pre-freshmen came over to our place and we got pitas from the Pita Pit for dinner. They were really good, and Becca and her bf Matt made cheesecake brownies. Then we all watched the new episode of Futurama.

After that, the kiddos left, and I crawled into bed.

Yep, that's the quick version. It was an amazing few days, but I am dead tired of traveling and not getting sleep.

When I get home... naptime!

Have a great day!

August 3, 2010 10:47 AM

So, I forgot to remind/mention to you:

I AM GOING TO GO SEE HOT CHIP~!!!!!!!!!

Hot Chip is an indie-electronica band, and I am leaving this afternoon to go see them perform at Central Part Summerstage. The doors open at 5:30pm tomorrow (August 4th, 2010), and I am leaving this afternoon to catch my bus at 4:15pm.

Jersey and I are going to go down to Ann's house in New Jersey (we'll probably arrive at 1:30am tomorrow morning). Then we will sleep, brunch, and head out to the city to meet up with Mike and his awesome girlfriend Maeghan for lunch.

Then we will be awesome until it's show time! And I'll head back on Thursday at noon with Jersey.

Then, once we get home, the pre-freshmen will come over and order Pita Pit food for dinner around 8pm!

So, I won't write the next two days. I'll miss it though!!!

Have a great few days!

August 3, 2010 9:00AM

Good morning!

I'm back, and here's a quick summary of yesterday (so I don't fall behind while recounting my vacation to you) - After work, I came home and the pre-freshmen were all at my place! (except Kimbria who had to work late) We played some games, Carrie left, we played more games, then they left, then I visited them at the dorms, then I came back and played video games before crashing. (ARGH! THE GRAMMAR! IT BURNS!!)

Now I will continue with my vacation story.

On Sunday, we all got up bright and early - for some reason, no one could sleep late at the beach - and headed down to the beach! I goofed off in the water (it was boring, but I guess I needed it more than I thought I did) and then headed back for lunch. After lunch, Jersey and I took a walk around Beach Haven and bought henna tattoos (the kind that smell really good and wear off after two or so weeks).

In the evening, one of the uncles made crab cakes, and I ate pasta and spinach (yum! but dull). I was really confused because I have never been in a place that didn't have any kind of oil (olive, canola, vegetable - nothing!). Then I went for a bike ride with two of his aunts.

On Monday, it was the same as Sunday - except I took a walk without Jersey in the afternoon. After that, the cousins, Jersey, and I all went to play putt-putt and get Ben and Jerry's ice cream (I didn't get anything). Then we went back and ordered food from the Beach Haven Fishery (which is apparently supposed to be really good fish). I got sushi-grade tuna rare with a seaweed salad - which was good. I ended up finishing some other people's food (only seafood - no dairy, meat, or egg products).

On Tuesday - same as Monday and Sunday - nothing really happened until the evening when I went to go see Inception with the cousins and Jersey. Oh, and jersey accompanied me on my walk again, and he bought me some frozen vegan Mexican food. Inception was really good, and I LOVED IT!!! But that's all I'm going to say in case you haven't seen it yet.

On Wednesday, I went bike-riding with the extended family in the morning - after we turned around, I took my time coming back and explored a little bit (I wanted to find Asian food on the island, but there wasn't any). Then some guy standing on a corner with his kids told me that everyone was waiting for me. So I felt really bad and started calling Jersey to tell them it's OK.

But then he didn't pick up, so I just pedaled my butt off to get back to the house, where they had all just arrived. I got scolded a little bit, but I honestly didn't think that they would wait for me like that. I ate a vegan burrito for breakfast.

(I just bought the last blueberry bagel at Java Wallys - score!)

Then, I turned on my phone and eagerly awaited a call from Ann or Tony!!!!! Because they promised to come visit us on Wednesday!!!!!! We went down to the beach while we waited, but I clutched my phone like you wouldn't believe!

Finally, we went back for lunch (I showered), and I snacked a bit. Then we got called at the same time, and it was them! They were singing Of Montreal (a really good band, you should look them up)!!!! I started singing along, and then we ran outside to wait for them. Jersey waved at a car that wasn't them, so I got to pick on him a little bit.

Once Ann and Tony arrived, we rejoiced!

AND I WILL CONTINUE IN MY NEXT POST!!!! (ha! you thought I would finish it all at once!)

Have a great day!

August 2, 2010 9:37 AM

So, I know all of you are eagerly awaiting my take on my vacation. In fact, I've been putting off writing this entry because I know that you people will be reading this.

I'm going to be honest - with the good and bad.

But welcome back! I'm glad to be back in Rochester!

On Friday afternoon (yes, we are starting at the beginning), Jersey came to work to pick me up since it was raining and he had the umbrella. We decided to grab lunch at the Student Alumni Union (SAU) to wait out the rain for a bit (since one umbrella and two people is the same as two half wet people). Lunch was boring - the pita I got took forever for them to make and it was dry and stale.

When we left the SAU, the rain had stopped! So we headed home and finished up packing before Laura came to pick us up to take us to the Megabus stop at East View Mall (~30 mins away) at 2:30pm. Our bus was supposed to leave at 4:15pm, so we thought this would be ample time to get there early (and maybe squeeze some shopping in).

When we got there, we were informed that the bus stop had moved to the RIT Inn and Conference Center - which was back where we had come from. By the time we arrived at the RIT Inn, it was 4:00pm and we were getting nervous.

But then we ended up waiting until 6:00pm for the bus to show up anyway, and our nerves went "kaput!" We finally arrived at Jersey's home at around 2:00am, and I crawled onto the cat hair covered couch and died. (I'm allergic to cats and Jersey has two of them.) Before I fell asleep, I remembered to kick Jimmy (the fat ugly one) off the couch when he tried to crawl onto my head.

We woke up at 7am the next morning, and I devoured two bananas before sleepily crawling into the car to head down to Beach Haven, NJ.

When the car stopped, we weren't at the beach, and I got really confused. Turns out we were at Jersey's grandmother's house - and we were switching cars. So I piled into that one and nodded off for a little bit.

So then we met up with the rest of Jersey's family at a restaurant for breakfast - called The Chicken and the Egg - which everyone else referred to as The Chegg. I ate a wrap and was upset to find cheese in the actual wrap! (I'd asked for no cheese) I lived, but I felt even more grouchy than usual.

And then we were at a beach house! but no one was taking anything inside. But everyone went inside, and I was bombarded with more names, more people, and more awkward standing around. Jersey's mom had the audacity to introduce me as "She's (insert Jersey's real name here)'s... well... apartment neighbor." Really?! What's up with that awkward pause?! And now people are looking at me like I corrupted him and we're some kind of bed partners!!! (I squelched that idea really really fast - 'cause that is just weird and wrong, on sooooo many levels)

We went down to the beach, but I didn't feel like going into the water. I didn't change into my swim suit but decided to take a walk - to get some 'alone time' since I had been surrounded for so long. But then Jersey asked if he could come along (in front of his mom - jerk-face knows that I am too polite to turn people down in front of their parents), so my 'get-away' walk turned into a 'how did you sleep last night, do you like my family' talk.

I had an alright time, but I felt like he was babying - no, mothering - me, so I told him I was gonna take a nap on the beach for a bit and he should go hang out with his family (since it is a family thing, you know). Then I took my walk and had my private time strolling the Jersey Shore.

After a while, I started attempting to learn everyone's names, and I learned that this beach house belonged to his uncle and we weren't staying there (geez, someone should have at least mentioned that part to me). So then we were moving to another house where I got to bring my bag in and unpack - sharing a room with his cousin Madeline (who was sweet and nice and girly but not too girly).

I don't remember much more about Saturday except that his cousins wanted to go putt-putting, but I didn't and then Jersey said he wasn't going either.

And I think I'll call this a post and finish this later - if it seems a bit angry sounding, that is probably because Jersey and I aren't exactly on good terms right now and that's affecting my memories of my vacation. I'll get to that later.

In the meantime, have a great day!
