So, I really need to update, and I am working on it - I swear! But this post will cover from Monday (11/29) to today, and then later I can go back and fill in the rest of Thanksgiving.
So, Monday was the first day of classes - and Tony's birthday!!! I had class at 8AM, so I got up bright an early to pack my backpack. Once I arrived at my class, the teacher told me that I couldn't attend this class because it required Financial Accounting as a pre-requisite - which I hadn't taken. So I sat around and waited until 10AM for my next class, after dropping the one I was in and adding in Financial Accounting to my course load.
I discovered that the only Financial Accounting class I could take was in the evenings on Tuesday - but I already had a meeting scheduled then - for this week only. So I emailed the professor and told him I wouldn't be able to make it this week.
After I went to my 10AM class, I realized that.... that was the only class I have on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! I got out at 11AM everyday for those three days! I was thrilled, but I started filling in the rest of those days with meetings and work. I had a leisurely lunch and then went home to work on a giant stack of paperwork and emails that had accumulated from the break.
In the evening, we went out to eat for Tony's birthday at Shiki Restaurant - since our favorite Korean place was closed on Mondays. Once we got there, we asked for a table for five (Kim, Tony, Jersey, Mike, and me). Some people came in after us, and one of them recognized me from the library (they were all male RIT students). Next thing we know, they changed our table request to 8, pulled some tables together, and crashed Tony's birthday meal.
One of them was nice and funny (the one that recognized me), and another one was reasonably quiet and nice. The last one was rude, ignorant, and extremely invasive - which ruined our end of the table. He asked, "So what do you girls like to do for fun?" and other similar questions. He refused to speak to the female waitress, and he talked down to the male waiter he requested. I was not thrilled with his behavior, and neither was anyone else.
On the way home, we dropped Kim off and went to Wegmans to stock up on food and supplies. I got a bunch of stuff, and we stopped by my place to unload and put my things away. Tony got a phone call from Urug, who asked if he was in Perkins. Tony said yes.
Turns out Urug's girlfriend had just broken up with him, and (for various reasons that won't be repeated) he needed to go to the hospital. Since it was Tony's birthday, I opted to drive him there, and Matt (who came with us to Wegmans) came along. We took him to the Strong Memorial Hospital at 10:30 PM, and the boys stayed at my place to put away the groceries.
Long story short, we didn't want to leave him in the emergency room by himself, so Matt and I stayed until he got to see a doctor - which was 1:30 AM. His parents and a friend from his hometown came up part-way through, which made him feel a little better.
I got home around 2 AM, and I went straight to bed since I had to be at work before 7:30 AM. I was a little high-strung and irritable during work, so I made them cookies for the next day. I went to my classes, and I accidently fell asleep in one of them. I went home and took a quick nap before going with Tony to get some medicine. Then I made dinner and baked.
In the evening (during when my class should have been), I had my meeting and got everything accomplished. Then I did some bill paying and went to bed.
On Wednesday, I went to my ONE class and then went to work and a meeting. In the evening, I went over to the guys' place and made some veggies and hash browns for dinner. It was pretty good, and I got to play the new Golden Sun game that just came out on Tuesday. I loved it!
Today, I had work at 7:30 AM, and I've got two classes and two meetings after. I packed a decent lunch though, so I should be set.
I forgot to mention in earlier posts, but Tony and Kim started dating a week or two before Thanksgiving.
Stay healthy!
